Colonial Antigua / 1 day tourAntigua is a colonial city surrounded to the North by the hills of Menchén and Candelaria, where you can enjoy a wonderful landscape. The heart of the city is the Central Plaza, that is surrounded by the Cathedral, The Archbishop’s Palace, the Palace of the General Captains, the Trade Arcade and the City Hall. The Fountain of the Sirens, designed in 1739 by Diego de Porras, Major Architect of the City is at the center of the Plaza. Tour Description: At 8:00am, our guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Guatemala City to transfer you to Antigua. Upon your arrival you will start your tour in this beautiful Colonial City. This tour includes visit to: Casa K’ojom: It is a Guatemalan traditional indigenous music research center and has an exhibit of several native musical instruments. Casa K’ojom now also houses the small but interesting Coffee Museum. Casa Popenoe: It is today a home (private museum), where you will find some of the most interesting kitchens in the city, with two separate rooms and a reduced arch is found. Cathedral: The Cathedral was a religious center in Central America for more than two centuries. It was almost destroyed by the earthquake of 1773. Instead of the original five naves today only one is still present. Currently the damages caused by earthquakes are clearly visible. Ciudad Vieja: Located at five kilometers away from Antigua. The main attractive is the church constructed in the XVIII century that is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception. After these visits you will enjoy of a delicious typical lunch, and then our guide will transfer you back to your hotel in Guatemala City. Rates:
